The 5th Congress of the Alps Adria Acoustics Association will be held in Petrčane (near Zadar), Croatia from September 12 through September 14, 2012.
The Congress will be aiming at bringing together scientists from Austria, Slovenia and Croatia, as well as from the other south-eastern European countries, so that mutual cooperation among the national societies could be improved for the benefit of the whole region. During the three days of the Congress, various national and international experts are scheduled to present a number of papers on the activities that they have undertaken in all fields of acoustics related to the Alpine-Adriatic Regional Cooperation Community.
The scientific programme includes the keynote talks given by eminent international experts along with their contributed papers. The AAAA 2012 Congress deals with topics that are the focus of interest in the scientific community and among researchers working in the industry. They encompass a number of different aspects of acoustics, involving ultrasound, noise, room acoustics, electroacoustics, hearing and musical acoustics, speech, theoretical acoustics, measurements in acoustics, aircraft noise and vibroacoustic systems in traffic etc.
Also scheduled is the AAAA Workshop dealing with noise mapping and action planning, the details of which can be found in the scientific programme.
Papers based on the abstracts that have been reviewed and accepted by two independent reviewers will be published in the Congress Proceedings which will be distributed to all Congress participants.
The Alps Adria Acoustics Association was founded by the acoustics societies of Austria, Croatia and Slovenia in 2002, and it then represented a new regional association. The original goal was to promote all aspects of research in the field of acoustics in the whole of the region, and beyond. In addition, the Association’s aim was to improve the overall cooperation among the countries and their respective national societies as well.
The 2012 Congress is organized by the Acoustics Society of Croatia (ASC) acting on behalf of the Alps Adria Acoustics Association and is also certified as an EAA symposium.
Looking forward to meeting you in Petrčane in September 2012!
Bojan Ivančević,
Congress Chairperson
